Nick Nelson, a proud member of the Diné (Navajo) Nation, brings over 20 years of hands-on experience in construction and design for both residential and commercial projects across the Southwest. His deep understanding of the construction process—from the ground up—makes him an invaluable asset to the IDS+A construction administration team.
Nick began his career 25 years ago as a plumber and quickly advanced to a design role for a construction development group while pursuing his degree. During this time, he contributed to multiple subdivision and commercial building projects. His passion and talent led him to join a large architecture firm, where he spent nine years working on major commercial projects including healthcare facilities, high school campuses, casinos, and justice centers.
Transitioning to general contracting, Nick took on the role of Superintendent for one of New Mexico’s largest commercial builders. He successfully led projects that included new high schools, industrial complexes, water treatment facilities, museums, renovations of buildings over 50 years old, and served as one of the Superintendents for the largest hospital in the state.
Nick’s comprehensive knowledge across all scales of construction—from design through completion—gives him a unique perspective that enhances the efficiency and quality of our construction administration services. His direct, solutions-focused communication style ensures that our clients’ goals remain the top priority throughout every stage of the project.
